MEET SHAKES!

From It’s tuft of hair that will tickle you into a full belly of laughter, the fidget teeth, light weight, or vibration by the press of an ear… Shakes will provide “on the go” sensory input wherever individuals of all abilities may need.

The Therapy Properties That Shakes Provide Include But Are Not Limited To:

TACTILE INPUT

*Tactile input includes light touch, firm touch, and the discrimination of different textures including dry to wet and messy. The tactile system is also responsible for the processing of pain and temperature. Tactile input can be alerting, calming, or over-stimulating, depending on the person.

Shakes is made from various fabrics in order to increase tactile tolerance. (Example: THE JEANS!!!!! THE TAGS!!! The never ending fight to get our children clothed in the morning.)

The “tuft” of hair is one of the kids’ favorite! It can tickle anyone out of a bad mood!

The Ears are soothing and comforting due to fabric made of silky material. We like to call them “silkens” around here.

Shake’s teeth are colorful and playful fidgets…Have you ever met a kid that didn’t like a fidget? The Sensory Softies Team Added The Thick Stitching To Add Durability! Fidget Away My Friends!

Shakes is a bright, visually appealing and striking color of green in order to increase focus and GREEN is the master color, associated with the pituitary which is the master gland. Green has been claimed as a possible color that stimulates the brain!

PROPRIOCEPTIVE INPUT

* Proprioceptive input is the performance of tasks that involves heavy resistance and input to the muscles and joints, and is essential in helping our bodies assimilate and process both movement (vestibular) and touch (tactile) information.(https://www.sensory-processing-disorder.com/heavy-work-activities.html)

Shakes is Lightly weighted to cater to individuals that may need a bit of input during their day to day activities in order to increase other sensory processing skills.

The backpack is provided to provide access to Shakes when needed, but the light weight is a low key way to include sensory input in your everyday busy life. Don't worry…we left some room for your tablets. (Insert winking emoji here LOL)

VESTIBULAR INPUT
*Input from the vestibular system. Sensory information about motion, equilibrium, and spatial orientation is provided by the vestibular apparatus, which in each ear includes the utricle, saccule, and three semicircular canals.
